A colonoscopy is an easy procedure that involves the examination of the inside of the colon. Usually doctors will request a colonoscopy to evaluate symptoms that include abdominal pain, bowel habit changes or rectal bleeding. Colonoscopies are also used for colorectal cancer screening.
